Sunstar is a pioneer in providing eco-friendly services in the hospitality industry. We care deeply about the environment, use resources responsibly, and prioritize products whose production methods and suppliers we can confidently support.
Social engagement and positive relationships with our surroundings are also very important to us. That is why we actively value and promote the society, culture, and environment of the destinations where our hotels are located.
We support regional initiatives and sponsor various projects, such as the Swiss umbrella organization for sports for people with disabilities, PluSport, as well as Amie Basel, an organization that supports single mothers in starting their careers.
We use regional products and offerings whenever possible, and through our partnership with Too Good To Go, we help combat food waste.
At all times, we are committed to protecting our good name and conducting our business in accordance with ethical standards.
We live our social commitment together with strong partners – for inclusion, equal opportunities and a spirit of solidarity.

Sunstar is involved in the OK:GO initiative and is thus helping to shape the future of inclusive and barrier-free tourism. This innovative initiative, supported by leading players in Swiss tourism, is revolutionizing travel planning for senior citizens and people with disabilities. Unlike conventional approaches, it focuses not only on certifications, but also offers an individual information platform. Every tourism provider is encouraged to collect and share up-to-date accessibility information without assessing the level of accessibility. This open provision of information enables travelers to decide for themselves whether an offer is accessible for them.

Being socially involved is very important to us. That's why, since 2021, we have been supporting the Swiss umbrella organisation for disability sport PluSport.
PluSport is the professional body that supports disability sport in Switzerland. It is the umbrella organisation that helps people, including many children and young people, who have disabilities to become involved in grass-roots and even elite sport. It works with all target groups, age groups and types of disability, in many different sports and always with integration and inclusion as its top priority.
PluSport believes it should be a matter of course that people with special needs can exercise, engage in sport and compete. Becoming involved in sport encourages them to integrate in groups and in society, bringing them more enjoyment and a better quality of life. And we want to support that goal!
Social commitment is just one part of our dedication. Discover how we actively drive climate protection, resource conservation and biodiversity across our hotels.
The organisation AMIE Basel uhelps single mothers to enter the labour market. Coping with training, job applications, childcare and your own private life can be a challenge. To enable young mums to enjoy some holiday time for once, we donated since 2021 all-inclusive holiday vouchers to the AMIE organisation.
